Verity leads VJC to 10th straight title

Victoria Junior College netted their 10th consecutive National Schools A Division Girls’ hockey title yesterday.

Their captain, Verity Wai-Smith, scored the all important goal in the first minute to help VJC pip Anglo-Chinese Junior College 1-0 at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium.

VJC were unlucky not to bring home the double after they lost 2-1 to arch rivals Raffles Institution in the Boys’ A Division later that afternoon.
