The parents of 14-year-old Jacky Ong (above), who was disqualified from the Sundown Marathon after he was found out to have run under someone else's identification, said they did not think their son had cheated.

The Sec 2 student from Riverside Secondary, who won the 10k race, was disqualified last week after the race organisers realised he registered under his girlfriend's 50-year-old father's ID.

Jacky's mum, Mrs Cindy Ong, who had competed in the 42k event, said: "It's not like he registered in the veteran's category and won, that is cheating. But (for his case), I don't see why it’s considered cheating."
