They came here to build a better life, but now, the future may be uncertain for two of the Bangladeshi men injured in the fire that broke out at a Little India restaurant earlier this month.
In April this year, Mr Rafiq Miah, 29, (above) fractured his left foot while doing road construction work. Just as he was about to return to work, he was hit with a second whammy - he was injured in the fire that broke out at Aliyah's Restaurant & Catering on Aug 14.
He ended up with 8 per cent burns to his arms and legs, while another man, Mr Majharul Hoque, 33, a waiter at Aliyah's, suffered 7 per cent burns to his face, arms and feet.
