Heartlanders are wondering whether it's time for the kiddy gloves to come off. They are refering to new proposed measures to curb visits to the casino.

The Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports' plans to adopt a risk-based approach that takes into consideration a patron’s individual circumstances, including frequency and pattern of visits and other tell-tale signs such as staying beyond the 24-hour period to curb gambling habits.

Even as the gamblers, heavy or light, sat they understand why the authorities might be thinking of more stringent measures to keep some people out of the casinos, they also say: "Leave it to us to decide, lah."

But having seen some of the more dire consequences, I'm definitely for more measures.
