Woman in burning flat clings to firemen, refuses to let go

Two women were rescued from a burning flat in Ang Mo Kio on Wednesday evening. One woman was 65 and the other was 70.

One of the Singapore Civil Defence Force officers involved in the rescue said that he came upon a 65-year-old woman who was crouched on the floor just metres from the fire.

"The moment she saw us, she grabbed us and refused to let go," he said.

Another 30 residents were evacuated from the block.
