Mr Philip Chew, the great-grandson of Chew Joo Chiat. TNP PICTURE: ARIFFIN JAMAR

There is a limited number of people here who can proudly say: "Yes, it's my grandfather’s road."

We speak to the descendants of some prominent people from Singapore’s past, whose names adorn road signs around the island.

Among them is Mr Philip Chew Peng Kia, whose great-grandfather was Chew Joo Chiat.

Mr Chew grew up in Joo Chiat Road, where most people knew about his family.

These are the people who really are deserves to call the particular road, "My Grandfather's road"; and not that sticker lady who tried to claim as her grandfather's. Shame on the later for trying to stake a claim on something which she does not deserve!!! That's called a "false claim".
