THE LOCAL football fraternity was unanimous in their condemnation of any racist behaviour following Fifa president Sepp Blatter's controversial comments that "there is no racism" in the sport.
Hougang winger and former international Noor Ali agreed that different types of verbal abuse are not uncommon on the pitch, but insisted that racism has no place in the sport.
Former international defender R Sasikumar (above), who said he was a victim of racism in a 2003 Tampines Rovers match against Woodlands Wellington, said: "That is just plain bullshit. Just because he is not at the receiving end, it is easy to say it doesn't exist."
