Driven, attractive and running profitable firms before they’re 30 – a new breed of savvy young people here are leveraging on their guts and smarts instead of a rich dad’s wallet to build successful businesses.
They include the owners of online fashion boutique Hervelvetvase, 20-something sisters Clare (above, left) and Magdalene Chan. Their blogshop is already raking in a seven-figure annual revenue.
Then there is 28-year-old Edward Chia, who, with a partner, started the Timbre Group of entertainment companies when he was 21 and studying for his degree at NUS.
