Catherine Zeta-Jones joins star-studded cast in popular sitcom Dad's Army film
Catherine Zeta-Jones has been casted in the big screen adaptation of Dad’s Army.
The 45-year-old actress's character is a journalist during the World War II who has been sent to the fictitious town of Walmington-on-Sea to report on the hapless members of the Home Guard.
The remake of the BBC classic comedy will showcase a star-studded cast consisting of Blake Harrison, Toby Jones, Michael Gambon, Bill Paterson, Tom Courtenay and will be directed by Oliver Parker, who was behind Johnny English and St Trinian's.
Running from 1968 to 1977, the popular sitcom attracted 18 million viewers at its height with millions of viewers still tuning in for repeats.
The movie is set to start filming in Yorkshire later this month.
