Drew Barrymore's half-sister found dead inside car
She would have turned 48 on Thursday.
But, Drew Barrymore's half-sister, Jessica Barrymore, was found dead inside her car in San Diego at 6am on Tuesday.
A witness, Marta Lopez, reportedly found the car blocking her driveway and approached the woman in the driver's seat, Us Weekly reported.
"You need help, you need help," Ms Lopez said to Barrymore, who was unresponsive.
Jessica, who shares the same father as the Charlie's Angels actress, is the only child from John Drew Barrymore's third wife Nina Wayne.
An energy drink and "dozens of white pills" were said to be found scattered around in the passenger's seat of the vehicle in which Jessica was found, New York Daily News reported.
National City police say the cause of death is still unknown.
Drew said in a statement to JustJared.com in light of the sad news: "Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss."
