Facepalm: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 9/11 poster gaffe

Paramount Pictures is the latest organisation that failed to follow the 'Think before you tweet' rule.

Its Australian account tweeted the poster of upcoming flick Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The facepalm moment: Slapping the Australian release date, which fell on September 11, on it.

The poster, which showed four turtles jumping off a roof of an exploding building, irked many who deemed the poster insensitive.

Following the uproar, Paramount has since deleted the tweet and issued a statement to Buzzfeed apologising for its use of the artwork.

“We are deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia. Combining that image and date was a mistake. We intended no offence and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use.”

Remember... always think before you tweet!
