Joan Rivers calls Michelle Obama a "tranny"

Joan Rivers was never one to mince words... or even attempt to hold back. 

This time, the 81-year-old comedian called US First Lady Michelle Obama a "tranny", or transgender.

The controversial Rivers had officiated a gay marriage earlier this week in New York.

She was confronted on the streets and asked if the US would see a first gay president or a first woman president, to which she responded: "We already have it with Obama... You know Michelle is a tranny."
