Kris reportedly entering mediation with SM Entertainment

Could Kris and his former management company reach an amicable settlement in their ongoing contract dispute?

After over a month of finger-pointing over Kris' decision to leave popular boy band Exo and break his contract with management company SM Entertainment, the Seoul Central District Court summoned both parties' legal representatives on June 11 for mediation.

The outcome has yet to be decided, reported Hellokpop, as both sides need to "submit how they want the case to be settled", before the court drafts an arbitration to see whether they would like to settle before they go to trial.

In May, Kris filed a lawsuit against his agency, claiming they "treated (him) like a machine". The singer also said that his contract should be annulled because he entered into it at age 16, and was not in a position to negotiate the terms of the contract properly.

SM Entertainment denied these claims.
