Michael Jackson's big sister is engaged!
On Wednesday, People magazine announced that 58-year-old singer La Toya Jackson is engaged to her business partner, Jeffré Phillips, 46.
But this didn't happen recently. But the news took a few months to surface.
Her longtime business partner popped the question while they were vacationing in Hawaii last August, she told the magazine in an interview.
Reports said that he presented her with a 17.5 carat diamond ring.
The proposal
"(I was caught off guard so) it wasn't a fast yes," said Jackson of the proposal which took place at the Trump Hotel..."I had no clue. I couldn't understand why he was so nervous."
Phillips had Jackson follow a path of white rose petals and gardenias to their hotel balcony in Hawaii.
There he had arranged a romantic dinner which featured her favourite dishes. Candles were placed everywhere.
After dropping to one knee he said, "I don’t have a ring for you" to which she replied 'well, that’s okay. I don’t care about a ring."
But when dessert was served, she got a rock - a big one.
She added: "When I lifted (the lid) for the dessert, there was the ring."
Well, in love age doesn't seem to matter.
