Miley Cyrus' tribute to young dying fan

Miley Cyrus betrayed her rock girl image with a heartfelt gesture to a dying fan.

The 21-year-old controversial Wrecking Ball star sent a personal video message to her 12-year-old fan Caley Camarillo, who watched it before she died last week, reported E! Online.

Caley was suffering from cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder which affects most critically the lungs.

The video was posted on Facebook by Caley's mother, Teresa, on Monday.

The singer said in the video: "Hey Caley, it's Miley. I've been talking to your mama the past few days. I know we met a few years ago but I just want to let you know that I'm still praying for you, I'm still thinking about you.

"I'm sending you some love, and I just want you to know that you on are on my mind and in my heart and I just wanted to send you a quick message to say hello to you."

Cyrus also dedicated her show in Lisbon on Sunday to the young fan, tweeting: "Tonight's show is for @MissCaley".

Caley's mum, Teresa, wrote on Facebook: "Miley Cyrus sent this to Caley and she was able to watch it an hour before she died.

"We have video of Caley watching the video but that we will save for ourselves. She managed to let out a smile. I take great comfort in this for some reason."

Caley's family have set up an online fundraising page to raise money for her funeral, Glamour magazine reported.
