The Boss beats Batman v Superman
Melissa McCarthy has shown Batman and Superman who's the real boss of the US box office.
The 45-year-old US actress' new comedy The Boss - in which she plays an egotistical business tycoon who loses everything due to insider trading and later engineers her comeback - scored a narrow victory over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice over the weekend, bumping the superhero blockbuster off the top spot after two weeks there.
It earned about US$23.5 million (S$31.6 million) in its first week of opening, just a little more than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's US$23.4 million.
The latter fell 54 per cent in its third weekend as its total domestic tally rose to US$296.7 million.
