Warning: Do not watch Demonic after a heavy meal.

Director Will Canon uses every possible trick in the book to create a permeating sense of dread throughout this US horror flick - jerky camera angles, complete darkness save for a single torchlight, lurking shadows, lengthy silences.

I felt nauseous watching the film, yet at the same time, I have to admit that Demonic is terrifyingly good.

It focuses on the aftermath of a massacre where five amateur ghost-hunters are brutally murdered inside an abandoned house. Detective Mark Lewis (Frank Grillo) and psychologist Elizabeth Klein (Maria Bello) question the apparent sole survivor (Dustin Milligan) in an attempt to solve the case.

Super creepy from start to finish.
