Nicole Kidman looks incredibly regal as Princess Grace.

Her porcelain skin and innate elegance make her the ideal candidate to portray the former Hollywood star.

But that's just about it.

She looks the part of Grace Kelly, but this film doesn't make you care about her.

Are we to sympathise with her plight of having to give up her career for a fairy tale life? Or are we meant to be invested in the political issues between Monaco and France?

The movie, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival last week, has stirred up much controversy. The real Monaco royalty has denounced it and there is a rumoured dispute between director Olivier Dahan (La Vie En Rose) and US distributor Harvey Weinstein.

This film looks picturesque, but that's its one saving grace.
