Movie Review: Take Me Home (NC16)

Really bad things happen to really beautiful people.

That is the gist of Thai horror flick Take Me Home, and make no mistake, it's a formula that sells.

Heart-throb Mario Maurer plays the dreamy protagonist, Tan, who has no memory of his past.

The equally angelic Wannarot Sonthichai plays his sister Tubtim.

It's all picture perfect until both the house and his sister unravel to reveal the dark forces behind them.

Take Me Home is intriguing and beautifully shot.

What doesn't work is how it is so eager to frighten without a protagonist to root for.

Sure, we don't want someone like Tan to get hurt, but it will take more for us to really hope that he makes it out alive.
