Mystery hole that claimed Girls' Generation's Taeyeon explained
It was a mystery. The stage suddenly opened up and swallowed her whole.
At least that's what it looked like on fancams that captured Girls' Generation leader Taeyeon falling through a hole in the stage at the Seoul Music Awards last week.
But this event was not destined to rival the Bermuda Triangle.
It was no strange phenomenon.
Kpop Starz reported that the Seoul Music Awards apologised for Taeyeon's accident and explained that the mystery hole was created by the stage lift lowering by accident.
The apology read: "We sincerely apologise for the incident involving Taeyeon at our awards ceremony. With regard to the accident where Taeyeon was forced to leave the performance, we would like to directly apologise to her fellow members, fans, and agency."
Taeyeon, who didn't suffer from any major injuries from her fall, is recovering from a strained back muscle.
