Annabelle is about to hit cinemas on Thursday (Oct 2).
It tells the tale of a doll, purchased by an unsuspecting husband for his pregnant wife, turning the family's lives into hell on earth of it's possessed by an entity left behind by members of a satanic cult.
Yes, we think you will need some prep before you go watch this flick - it's a spin-off of last year's hair-raising horror flick The Conjuring, and you remember how much you screamed while watching that one, right?

The father of a family in the US becomes the new owner of the Dolly Dearest factory. The factory is located near the tomb of Sanzia (meaning Satan on Earth) that is believed to be from a Mayan Cult.
Naturally, an evil spirit trapped in the tomb is released after a curious archaeologist breaks in and ends up getting himself killed. The evil spirit ends up finding refuge inside many dolls within the factory including one that is gifted to the new owner's daughter.
4. May (2002)
May Dove Canady is a very awkward young woman who turns to only one true friend that she has, a glass-encased doll named Suzie.
5. Saw (2004)
The first film in the series revolves around Adam Whannell and Lawrence Elwes - two men who are chained in a dilapidated underground bathroom - and are each given instructions via a microcassette recorder explaining how to escape.
The instructions they need to survive are given through their torturer's beloved doll (on a bicycle), Jigsaw.
6. Dead Silence (2007)
Jamie Ashen and his wife Lisa receive a mysterious ventriloquist doll, Billy, in an unmarked package. Isn't that bad news already?
