Two more celebs arrested in China drug bust
Chinese authorities are not letting up in their crackdown on celebrities who use drugs.
Following Jackie Chan's son Jaycee Chan and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko Chen-Tung’s drug arrest, Chinese authorities have reportedly nabbed two more for drug offences.
They are believed to be Chinese actress Alice Li and Yijo, the Chinese former member of South Korean girl-quintet Rania.
The two women had allegedly arranged to meet at Jaycee’s apartment on Thursday (Aug 14) before being arrested at a foot reflexology centre, an Asian Pop News report said.
The identities of the artists have not been confirmed, apparently because they plead to the authorities to keep the information from the public.
Li, who is represented by Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), has starred in popular films including Hong Kong-Chinese disaster film As the Light Goes Out and Hong Kong comedy film The Midas Touch.
During a press conference, EEG’s chief operation officer Mani Fok addressed Li’s drug scandal, saying: "We are unable to contact Alice, and even her family is not able to contact her as well."
When asked what action EEG would take if Alice is confirmed as the artist who was arrested in the drug arrest, Ms Fok said, "We have not received any notification. We will not respond to a hypothetical scenario."
Besides Chan and Ko, other celebs who have been arrested so far include singer Li Daimo, writer Ning Caishen, and actor Gao Hu, reported Huffington Post.
