5 weird trends from recent fashion weeks: Let's hope they'll never go mainstream
With the recently concluded fashion weeks, there are sure to be countless editorials on fashion trends that dominate 2015.
Last year saw the continued dominance of short shorts (when will they disappear) and bralets - de rigueur music festival looks for many girls.
Hopefully this year will spark trends that cover more skin.
More importantly, here's hoping the trends below never go mainstream.
1. Styled baby hair
Call it the FKA Twigs effect.
The singer's styled baby-hair curls plastered at temples quickly became part of her look - and it was unique.
But now top fashion houses are using it on their runway shows, including British fashion label Caitlin Price.
Givenchy embraced the look unabashedly and had all its models rocking this style. (We'll talk about the face jewellery soon, don't worry)
In fact, even Katy Perry wore the style at the Givenchy show.
2. Sheer tights and visible underwear?
Kanye, I'mma let you finish but comic superheroes have the best tights/underwear collection of all time.
I'm not sure what Kanye is trying to achieve here with his fall/winter collaboration with Adidas - but let's hope the masses are not into it.
I'm not in the mood to see more of... whatever you call this on the streets.
3. Fur shoes
Okay to be honest, these fur shoes look pretty comfortable. But think of all the "what clothes should I wear these shoes with" dilemma!
And seriously, when did Big Foot become fashionable?
4. Face jewellery
Givenchy clearly haven't heard that less is more.
The fashion powerhouse went all-out in their recent Paris show and introduced the idea of face jewellery.
And we have a sneaky suspicion it will probably be a cult look soon. That means you can expect this look at music festivals this year.
What's next, face tattoos?
5. Oversized pants
Oversized blazers, sweaters and shirts have been a fashion staple for the past few years.
But these pants take oversized to a whole new level.
Did someone steal a sad clown's costume and try to make it sexy?
