Care for whale testicle-flavoured beer?
An Icelandic micro brewery has created a beer with a rather unique taste - the smoked testicles of a fin whale.
Yes, you read that right.
The brewery called Stedji, is currently selling the beer that is flavoured with the testicles of a fin whale that is smoked with sheep excrement.
From their website:
What makes this beer special is that, its ingredients is Pure Icelandic water, malted barley, hops and sheep shit-smoked whale balls. Icelanders have used this method of smoking for centuries, so we chose to handle the whale balls the same way before we use it in the brew. - Stedji
It is being sold exclusively during the Icelandic midwinter month of Thorri, the Icelandic Visir website reported.
The owner Stedji told Visir: "We want to create a true Thorri atmosphere and therefore we decided to use smoked testicles from fin whales for flavouring the beer."
This is not the first time that the brewery has used whale parts to flavour their beer.
BBC reported that in 2014, they made a beer using whale parts such as bones and intestines, in the process angering the Whale and Dolphin Conservation group.
The group expressed their concern and dismay when they found out that the brewery was selling beer which used whale parts.
