Finally, nude underwear for women of colour is here
Ask for 'nude' or 'flesh-toned' underwear at a department store, and you'll probably be presented with beige-coloured items.
Lingerie company Nubian Skin wants to change that.
It is launching a range of nude bras to cater to all skin tones, reports Mail Online.
The company's founder wrote in a blog post: "My nude isn't the nude I see in shops.
"Despite the reality that women of colour have the same needs as all women when it comes to lingerie and hosiery (and spend the same of their hard-earned money), the industry simply doesn't cater to us.
"So, I thought, it's time to rethink the definition of nude. Thus, Nubian Skin was born."
Nubian Skin's range will include underwear, bras and hosiery, in both plain and lacy styles.
It has also helpfully suggested which colour underwear is a good fit for each customer, depending on whichever popular make-up brand foundation shade she wears.
It already has a fan in Scandal star Kerry Washington, who tweeted a link to an article about the brand, with the comment: "Awesome."
