Amy Schumer again a target of fat shaming

After news that comedienne Amy Schumer is in talks to star in a live-action Barbie movie, Internet trolls quickly started hurling abuse at her on social media.

"If Barbie became obese and heinous to men, @amyschumer is perfect," read one tweet. Others want her to "lose a lot of weight for the role".

Ironically, the movie is centred on an imperfect Barbie who lives among the 180-plus Barbie characters. She gets kicked out of Barbieland because she is not perfect enough but discovers that being unique is an asset.

Schumer, 35, is known for encouraging women to embrace their imperfections.

Madonna has offered to remarry Sean Penn, whom she was married to for four years - for US$150,000 ($213,000). She hosted a charity gala on Friday night in Miami, where she raised US$7.5 million for the African nation of Malawi.

The pop diva auctioned off rare photographs, tour memorabilia and pieces from her own art collection for a star-studded audience that included Penn. Madonna told the audience she would marry Penn again if he bid US$150,000 for a necklace, which he did, but was outbid.

"I'm still in love with you," Madonna, 58, told Penn onstage.
