Things get crazy when Vikings invade Spanish town
Battle cries filled the air on Sunday afternoon as Vikings invaded Catoira.
Local residents, dressed as Viking warriors, arrived at the northern Spanish coast on board a replica 11th-century Viking vessel with the aim of capturing the Torres del Oeste Castle, a fortified structure from the 11th century.
The event was a re-enactment of the Viking invasions that occurred a thousand years ago and has been held on the first Sunday of August every year since 1960.
Local residents attempted to resist the attack and many were drenched in wine during the simulated battle.
Here are some photos of the Viking invasion. It sure looks fun.
