Eat, Play, Love: Valentine's Day meals
Plan a special Valentine's Day meal with these unique ideas
Valentine's Day is upon us and if you are still planning for that special meal, here are some suggestions.
LOBSTER AND CHAMPAGNE
Why have a set dinner when you can have a buffet meal? This is probably best for those who have been together for a while, so you can just let loose and eat.
At Spices Cafe (Concorde Hotel Singapore, Tel: 6739-8370), besides the usual spread of food (the restaurant has a great Peranakan section), you'll also get a Gratinated Cheese Lobster and a glass of champagne each.
It's available this weekend at $82 a person.
A MEAL FOR TWO, WITH WINE
Arteastiq, The Boutique Tea House - located at Plaza Singapura (Tel: 6336-0951) and Mandarin Gallery (Tel: 6235-8370) - offers a three-course meal at $188 for two, paired with two glasses of wine.
For mains, you'll get a choice of the Beef Rossini, Red Snapper or Roasted Spatchcock.
It's only available on Sunday.
FROM CNY TO VALENTINE'S DAY
Rabbit Stash (Tel: 9858-8607), located at the roof of Wangz Hotel, has a five-course menu that runs from Chinese New Year into Valentine's Day.
The food here is always beautifully plated, such as the Braised Duck and Sticky Glutinous Rice and Milk Fed Veal, so it's also perfect for many Instagram posts.
It's at $148 per person, without alcohol, and is available until Feb 15.
HEART-SHAPED BAK KWA
Here's something cute for Valentine's Day - Fragrance Bak Kwa's limited edition heart-shaped Red Yeast Bak Kwa.
This is limited to only 1,000 customers and you can buy this at a 20 per cent discount on Saturday (Feb 13).
The usual price is $17.12 per 300g.
But this discount is only available at the Changi Airport Terminal 2 outlet.
ART DECO AMBIENCE
1919 Waterboat House (#03-01 The Waterboat House, Tel: 6538-9038) is housed in an historical building and with its Art Deco interiors, it's great for a romantic date.
The highlights of the five-course menu are the L'Amour De Ma Vie (a 300-day grain fed prime ribeye) and Mon Tresor (home-cured salmon).
The menu is available this weekend at $85 per person.
GOURMET PICNIC
How about going on a picnic this Valentine's Day? Find a spot by the beach and enjoy a few hours of romantic conversation, the sun and good food.
From tomorrow to Sunday, Sunrise Bistro & Bar (#01-05 Big Splash Blk B, Tel: 6440-9090) has its Picnic in a Basket ($140) with canapes, meat skewers and desserts.
The basket comes with items such as a rose stalk, a waterproof mat, acrylic plates and cutlery, as well as a battery-operated candle light.
