WHILE most contestants perform their cover versions with a simple guitar or keyboard accompaniment, Ms Audrey Yap’s mindblowing video entry featured her fully utilising her voice.

Beside singing the melody, she used her voice to create the drums, bass and guitar portions of Katy Perry’s Wide Awake.

As it turns out, a capella is not new to the 27-year-old marketing executive, who is skilled in several instruments, including the piano and ukelele.

Another contestant, 29-year-old Kevin Tan, and his singing partner, Ms Sera Underhill, a 24-year-old speech and drama teacher, have been recording acoustic covers of popular songs and posting them on their YouTube channel, kevinNsera, for nearly five years.
