That's right. 3CE has arrived in Singapore. The first item I hurried to check out was its matte lipstick.

The shades of the Dangerous Matte range are pure chic.

The texture?

Smooth as silk.

The manufacturer says the texture comes from the lipstick's mango seed butter and shea butter ingredients.

The 3CE lipsticks come in a wide range of shades, and you can likely find the colour you want for any occasion.

This pure matte brilliance is the brand's bestseller at both its stores in South Korea. I am not surprised because it lasted me a good 10-hour work day.

URBAN DECAY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK ($33)

Here is another matte lip hero.

Urban Decay's Matte Revolution Lipstick has an ultra-creamy texture that can last almost the entire day.

The one different thing about this range? The cool new colours the brand has come up with - from neutrals to brights to deep, dark colours.

I lined my lips with Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil and noticed it helped define my lips a lot better.

Swiping the Matte Revolution lip colour afterwards just sealed the bold-lips deal.

BOBBI BROWN CREAMY MATTE LIP COLOR ($38)

The manufacturer claims the formula used to make the Creamy Matte range conditions lips and locks in moisture.

Steer clear of excessively oily food and this matte lippie can last for at least eight hours.

Swiping the colour on my upper lip was more than enough for both lips.

I pursed my lips together and the colour transferred to my bottom lip without disturbing the colour on top.

Bold lips are now my new favourite thing.

This video shows you why lining your lips before putting on the lippie is important. especially if you want definition.

Line your lips with a colour that is closest to the lipstick you are using. Apply lipstick.

Grab a tissue, pull it apart to get only one ply. then, cover your lips with the tissue and dab translucent powder on it.

Remove tissue, apply lipstick again before doing the same powder routine as before.

And just like that, you have matte lips despite using glossy lipstick.

If you have a certain lipstick colour you like but can’t find its matte version, here is what you can do.

In this video, she puts on her glossy lipstick after her lip liner. After that, she rubs two fingers on translucent powder and dabs it directly on her lips.

When I tried it, I noticed that it is important you press it down without moving your colour around. So don’t rub it on.

Your lips may have white spots but that is normal. Keep dabbing the translucent powder until it absorbs all the gloss (or oil) from the lipstick and then press your lips together.

It is quite an easy process but it has to be repeated when you are touching up your lips.
