Biking to the bounty
Win premium motorcycle batteries and full riding gear in this week's Full Throttle contest
We're turning up the heat with our high-value prizes.
This week, sponsors for June's Full Throttle motorcycle supplement will be giving away five prizes - four batteries courtesy of Wing Yap Motor, a motorcycle workshop and accessories outlet, and one head-to-toe prize from riding apparel specialist Racing World. The total value of this week's prizes is about $3,000.
There are $22,000 worth of prizes to be won in total, including the grand prize - a Harley-Davidson Street 750.
These quick-charging Skyrich Powersport Batteries are light, easy to use and durable.
Team Braap Brothers - the riders from Singapore who participated in this year's gruelling Red Bull Romaniacs endurance race - prepped their two dirt bikes with the Lithium Ion batteries.
The treacherous terrain in Romania's Carpathian Mountains, where the competition was held, led to many spills for the Singapore riders.
Said team rider Ben Crookenden: "Moving from two to four stroke bikes, the biggest concern was the extra weight. And with no kick start, a reliable battery is critical."
Bringing the engine back to life after a fall was always easy.
The batteries a quarter of the weight of lead-acid motorcycle batteries and last 10 times longer.
Team Braap Brothers managed to complete the race which commonly takes out half the racing field.
FULL RIDING GEAR
Riding apparel connoisseur Racing World is sponsoring almost $2,000 in riding gear.
One lucky rider gets to win the following: Alpinestars T-GPR Air Jacket, AST-1 WP pants, S-MX 6 boots and GP Air gloves.
The winner will also walk away with an AGV K5 Jet Soleluna helmet and a Bluetooth communication set from Sena Technologies, the SMH10.
The elongated K5 Jet helmet looks cool and mimics the aerodynamic shape of AGV's full-face helmets.
In our hot climate, there've been times I yearned for a flip-up helmet for fresh air.
The K5 Jet gives me the option without compromising safety.
The clear visor is thicker than conventional visors. The helmet also fits snugly due to the "Asian fit" and narrow cheek design.
After wearing one for the last three months, I'm glad the visor doesn't rattle in the wind.
Magnets keep the visor secure at high speeds.
