Little things, big impact
Never underestimate the power of a good bike accessory
If, like me, you can't afford to spend big on the latest motorcycle, there's always hope for splurging on the little things.
Usually, bike accessories will not burn a big hole in your pocket. Besides, they could give your motorcycle or even yourself a fresher look.
This week, this Biker Boy recommends three items that might just fit the bill.
EPIC ID
It may look like a fashion accessory for teenyboppers but the Epic Id is worth its weight in gold.
This adjustable rubber wristband is actually a waterproof USB device that stores your vital medical information and emergency contact numbers.
Secured by a metal clasp, the Epic Id, which retails for $59.90, may be the lifeline you'll need should you be knocked unconscious in an accident.
When that happens, a paramedic just has to plug the Epic Id into a laptop to retrieve your medical record - allergies, blood type or even previous injuries - quickly.
The Epic Id is distributed by Wing Yap Motor and comes in three colours - white, red and blue.

OHLINS TTX RT & TTX GP
Ohlins, the Swedish maker of plush and exotic motorcycle suspension, recently introduced its 2016 line-up at EICMA 2015.
Sporting the iconic yellow and gold colours, two new rear shocks - the TTX RT and the TTX GP - would surely get the nod of approval from long distance riders and track fanatics alike.
The same technology developed from Ohlins' vast experience in MotoGP has gone into the RT, which denotes road-touring, and the GP, which refers to Grand Prix.
The shocks boast a precise and wider range of adjustments to rebound and compression damping.
Ohlins says riders will get improved chassis feedback as well as enhanced performanwce.
Both the RT and GP are road legal.
Prices for the RT start from $1,500 while GP prices start from $1,800. Contact Race Werks Motor Sports, the exclusive dealer for Ohlins Suspension, at telephone number 6273-2203.
DIMPLE MAGNETIC OIL PLUGS
Let's face it, there's nothing sexy about oil plugs.
Yet the manufacturers of these powerful Dimple magnetic oil plugs would like you to think otherwise every time you drain used oil from your motorcycle engine.
You see, or rather you don't see, there are tiny, harmful metal shavings that circulate in your engine's oiling system.
They are created when your pistons rub against cylinder walls whenever you ride.
The US-made Dimple plug, which can withstand temperatures over 300 deg C and sticks to a 250g piston like glue, is simply added insurance. What your oil filter doesn't catch, the Dimple plug - which comes in varying sizes for different motorcycles - will.
You'll see metal deposits collect around the core of the Dimple plug, guaranteed for 100 years, during each oil change.
All Dimple magnetic oil plugs for motorcycles retail at $50 each. For more information, contact local Dimple distributor, Full Throttle Asia, at 6384-0123.
