Hannah Quinlivan dishes on the secret behind her post-baby body
Looking at Taiwanese-Australian model Hannah Quinlivan’s svelte post-pregnancy figure in her latest series of photos, it is hard to believe that she just popped three months ago.
The 22-year-old wife of Taiwanese Mandopop superstar Jay Chou gave birth to their first child, a baby girl Hathaway, in July.
In the street photoshoot taken in Tokyo last month — Quinlivan was invited by Japanese online shopping site Rakuten to model for its new chic Autumn/ Winter collection — she flaunts her gorgeous, fantastic bod.
No mumsy vibes, no pudgy face, no stubborn bulge.
There is no secret to her weight loss, Quinlivan tells M in an e-mail interview.
“Actually, I did not deliberately lose any post-baby fat. During my pregnancy, I had very serious morning sickness, plus I had a bout of flu,” wrote Quinlivan in Chinese.
“That led to me not having much of an appetite throughout those (nine months), so I didn’t pile on the pounds.”
Her situation, however, is not ideal, she stressed.
“I’d advise all mums-to-be to eat the right, healthy food during their pregnancy. That’d be really beneficial for your baby,” said Quinlivan.
She was a lot more reticent on questions about her daughter, choosing to give vague replies without much detail.
Hathaway — “Jay and I came up with her name together” — is “an obedient, unfussy baby”, said Quinlivan.
“She wakes up for milk at night, drinks a little, then goes back to bed,” shared the young mum.
“Jay is a hands-on dad, he is pretty good at changing diapers.
“I think our parenthood challenges will set in when she’s slightly older. Maybe when she starts crawling.”
Quinlivan showed off her witty side when M asked her who Hathaway is more attached to — mummy or daddy.
“Of course it’s me, because our baby has to ‘Listen to Mother’s Words’,” she said, punning on Chou’s hit song.
And how about a second baby to keep Hathaway company?
“We’d let nature takes its course, another baby boy or girl would be nice,” said Quinlivan.
