Harris parties with Kim K in Vegas

Looks like Scottish DJ-producer Calvin Harris has clearly taken sides.

He was spotted partying with US reality TV star Kim Kardashian after she shaded his ex-girlfriend, US singer Taylor Swift, on Snapchat by uploading footage of the controversial phone conversation between Swift and her US rapper-husband Kanye West over whether Swift knew about the lyrics of his song Famous.

Harris, 32, and Kardashian, 35, posed in a picture with US rapper French Montana, 31, and US singer Jennifer Lopez at Lopez's 47th birthday party held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas over the weekend.

A source told Us Weekly: "Kim and Calvin did talk and interact, smiling and chatting for awhile."

Harris also recently shared a clip of himself lip-syncing to a West track.

Star Trek blasts to top spot

Star Trek Beyond has landed at the top of the US box office, raking in US$59.6 million (S$81 million) over the weekend.

The sci-fi film knocked animated film The Secret Life Of Pets, which earned US$29.3 million, to second place.

However, the third movie in the franchise, starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, opened lower than its predecessors - 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness (US$70.2 million) and 2009's Star Trek (US$75.2 million).

50 Cent offers to 'save' Top Gear

US rapper-actor 50 Cent thinks he can "save" British reality TV motoring series Top Gear.

According to the Daily Mirror, the long-running show has been losing popularity ever since original hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May left last March.

English presenter Chris Evans, 50, and US actor Matt LeBlanc, 49, took over as new hosts for the 23rd season, which aired from May to July, but have not been able to revive it. Evans left after the season ended after six episodes.

50 Cent, 41, told Daily Star: "I would love to work on Top Gear, I could save that show for sure, but it would cost them. There ain't a car I haven't owned over the years. My car collection is as good as anybody's out there.

"The show since the old team left has been unrecognisable and if it don't get back to where it should be soon, then it may never recover."

Ora to host Top Model

Rita Ora will be taking over as host of US reality TV modelling series America's Next Top Model.

The 25-year-old English singer replaces US model and TV personality Tyra Banks, who hosted the first 22 seasons and was also a judge and executive producer.

Banks will remain as an executive producer. USA Today revealed the new panel of judges: Ora, Paper magazine chief creative officer Drew Elliott, US model Ashley Graham and stylist Law Roach.

The show was cancelled by TV network The CW last December before it was picked up by VH1 in February this year.
