She may be considered a showbiz freshman but the 22-year-old is a veteran in the modelling world.
The two-time British Fashion Awards Model Of The Year winner (2012, 2014) began her modelling career at 16 and her rise could not have been more stellar. She has been the face of high-end fashion houses such as Chanel and Burberry.
While working the runway was her claim to fame, Delevingne told New York Times that modelling was never her dream, adding that acting and making music were her ambitions.
2 BECOMING MARGO
The Brit supermodel's breakout role as Margo Roth Spiegelman in Paper Towns (opening here July 23) is hard-earned.
She competed with about 150 actress for the part.
Based on John Green's bestselling young adult novel, Paper Towns follows Quentin "Q" Jacobsen (Nat Wolff) and his infatuation with enigmatic neighbour Margo.
A desire that spurs him into a cross-country search for her when she mysteriously disappears.
Margo is described as "gorgeous, spontaneous, misunderstood and adventurous" — aspects Delevingne totally could relate to.
“I think that I got the part because a lot of the stories that (Margo) went through in the book and all those kind of things, I’ve been through before," she said in an interview on Green's YouTube channel, vlogbrothers.
"And a lot of the lines written in the script, I’ve said before," she added.
3 ROLE MODEL
Delevingne, who has over 15 million people following her on Instagram, knows that her personal life will even be more intensely scrutinised.
Clearly keen to be a role model, the budding actress finally opened up about her drug issues. In 2013, she was photographed by paparazzi dropping a plastic bag of white powder on the stoop of her London home. It is only now that she has talked about the issue.
"I was a kid, you know," she said to NY Times about that incident.
“I still am in so many ways, and I’m so lucky, but I think everyone needs a bit of a slap in the face, and a reminder that no one is invincible. That’s what it was for me.”
She added that “especially with young people seeing the film, I want to be clear: I’m so far away from drugs that I couldn’t possibly be further away, and whatever happened in the past is in the past, it just doesn’t exist anymore.”
4 HIDDEN TALENT
The It girl with busy eyebrows recently revealed a hidden talent — beatboxing.
Not only did she record something with Pharrell and Justin Timberlake, she recently showed off her superb beatboxing skills on two variety shows: UK's The Graham Norton Show and US's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
5 MORE CARA TO COME
Delevingne, who has officially parted ways with her agency Storm Model Management, is gearing up for more big screen escapades. Next up is Pan, the swashbuckling retelling of Peter Pan starring Hugh Jackman, which opens here Oct 8.
She also has another blockbuster flick next year, the highly anticipated Suicide Squad where she plays the assassin Enchantress.
Delevingne aspires to be like Charlize Theron, telling New York Times that "people can put you in whatever box: model, whatever, but if I just keep going and actually do it well, which I hope I can, then I hope people will give me more movies — and I’ll win an Oscar!”
