Kelvin Tong's 7 Letters short film theme song Precious now available for download
Film-lovers who enjoyed the SG50 anthology movie 7 Letters can now download the theme song Precious from Kelvin Tong’s short film Grandma Positioning System – GPS.
Precious – composed, performed and produced by homegrown singer-songwriter Serene Koong – was written specially for Tong’s short film, which stars Zheng Ge Ping and Hong Huifang.
The short recounts a family’s annual trips to the cemetery during the Qing Ming festival.
“Audiences who loved the short film have been asking us in person as well as over social media about paying to download the song,” said Tong.
Precious is available to download for free via www.serenekoong.com from Aug 20 to Aug 26.
7 Letters represents seven heartfelt "love letters" to Singapore. Each short film captured the directors’ personal and poignant connection with the place they call home.
The seven stories by Boo Junfeng, Eric Khoo, K Rajagopal, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan, and Tong tell of our heartland and its people through tales of lost love, identity, inter-generational familial bonds and tensions, unlikely neighbours, and even references to traditional folklore.
7 Letters is now screening exclusively at Golden Village Cineplexes. Film runs until Aug 26.
