Star Wars fans, including Tan Chuan-Jin, react to teaser for new movie

The force has awakened.

Yes, fan boys and girls came out in full force when the Star Wars teaser was released last night.

And manpower minister Tan Chuan-Jin, 46, was one of them.

He wrote on Facebook: "Fanboys awake...!"

"Chewie...we're home." Gasp!!http://youtu.be/ngElkyQ6RhsFanboys awake...!

The new teaser quite frankly broke the Internet - proving that Kim Kardashian is not the only one who can inspire mass hysteria in this day and age.

Millions of tweets were sent out following the reveal of the teaser.

And Twitter made it more fun for fans by introducing Star Wars emojis. If you use the hashtags show below, these emojis will appear in your tweets.

But those things are merely the side dishes. The main course was the actual trailer.

Predictably, the Internet exploded with some, shall we say, exaggerated (albeit warranted) reactions.
