Movie Review: Big Game (PG13)
Cliched, preposterous, ludicrous.
This action adventure has B-movie written all over it.
However, leave all expectations outside the cinema hall, and you'll find yourself rooting for its pint-sized hero.
Onni Tommila may not possess the cutest or matinee-idol-in-the-making looks, but the Finnish teen has enough charisma. He holds his own alongside veterans like Jim Broadbent and Felicity Huffman and even gets to order Samuel L Jackson around.
Onni plays Oskari, a 13-year-old who is sent into the Finnish wilderness alone to hunt game as a rite of passage to manhood.
Instead of deers or bears, he meets the US President (Jackson), whose Air Force One is gunned down by terrorists.
It's quite a fun ride and will be inspiring for pre-teen boys who need heroes other than the comic-book kind.
