Movie Review: Monster Hunt (PG)
With a title like Monster Hunt, one would expect some scary stuff.
But the monsters here, even the supposedly evil ones, are so cute, you know from the get-go you're dealing with fluff.
If that's your thing, you just might dig this silly China-made comedy where the characters have a penchant for breaking into song.
Jing Boran is Tianyin, a naive village mayor who is implicated in a civil war that has erupted in the monster kingdom.
The movie, directed by Raman Hui, a co-director on animated flick Shrek The Third, has pretty impressive CGI and the animation is seamless.
But apart from the central monster figure Wuba being extremely adorable - merchandising oppportunity alert! - there's nothing here to get excited about.
