Movie Review: The Tag-Along (NC16)
In all honesty, Taiwanese cinema is not particularly strong in the horror genre.
The last memorable entry was 2009's Invitation Only and it was a stinker.
Thankfully, once in a blue moon, a rare decent scary movie like The Tag-Along pops up on our screens.
Property agent Wei (River Huang) is distraught after his grandma's sudden disappearance.
He finds a spooky video clip in her friend's camera that shows a little girl in red tagging behind an elderly group.
Soon, Wei himself goes missing and it is up to his girlfriend, Yi-Chun (Tiffany Hsu), to unravel the mystery.
Huang and Hsu, both Golden Bell Awards winners, are excellent, but the scares could have been delivered more swiftly and aggressively.
