Lip sync your way to meeting Taylor Swift

Good news Swifties. All those months of practising the Shake It Off dance routine are about to pay off.

Cornetto has launched a search for Taylor Swift's No. 1 Singapore fan — in the form of a lip sync battle — and one lucky Swiftie will walk away with passes to meet the Grammy-winning singer when she brings her 1989 World Tour here in November.

For a shot at being crowned Singapore's ultimate Swiftie, fans will have to record a video (no longer than 30 seconds) of themselves lip syncing to Swift's 2014 hit Shake It Off based on the theme of the week. Fans can either choose to take part as solo contestants or team up with a friend for the lip sync video.

There will a total of four different themes for the four weeks of auditions held between Sept 12 and Oct 8.

Once they're satisfied with their videos, fans will have to submit their entries via Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #CornettoShakeItOff. The top 10 contestants from each week will be shortlisted to compete in live lip sync battles at Orchard Cineleisure, JEM and Bugis Junction.

At the live battles, contestants will perform extended 90-second lip sync renditions of Shake It Off. Members of the public will then be invited to cast their votes for their top two contestants from each live battle who will secure Category 1 tickets to catch Taylor Swift live in concert and advance to the finale.

On Oct 31, the eight finalists will take to the stage for the last time to impress judges and the audience with a lip sync performance based on themes of their choice. The Shake It Off lip sync champion will take home an Instax camera, a pair of KEDS shoes, a year's supply of Cornetto ice cream as well as passes to meet Swift.

Swifities can start submitting their entries based on the theme 'Hip Hop Taylor'  for the first week of auditions, which will end on Thursday (Sept 17).
