Jessie J says 'It’s ok not to be ok'
Jessie J told fans to expect radio silence from her for a few days following her hospitalisation.
The English singer posted on Instagram that she had undergone an operation on Monday (June 22), and had earlier put up a selfie with the caption: "It’s ok not to be ok."
The 27-year-old, who is recuperating, declined to reveal why she needed surgery and asked fans to respect her need for privacy.
She posted: "I’m going to be offline for a few days and I wanted to show you why. I don’t often share personal stuff (especially about my health) anymore.
"I just get on with it secretly but I wanted to share with you before someone else might and it gets twisted and exaggerated into something different or worse. Meh.
"Just know I am ok as I say in the video on the right. I had an operation yesterday so need to rest. I won’t be saying what for so PLEASE don’t keep asking me or harassing my close ones on here or anywhere for information. Its personal and I know you can respect that."
She added that "hospitals have been (her) secret second home (her) whole life", but that her thoughts are with anyone presently in pain or suffering.
Jessie J has had heart problems since she was a child.
She was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which can result in an irregular heartbeat and shortness of breath.
She suffered a minor stroke when she was 18 and thought she was "never going to get better".
In March, she was forced to cancel her Australian tour due to "sudden illness".
