LionsXII are fourth in the Malaysian Super League (MSL) standings, four points behind ATM, but with two games in hand.

If the LionsXII beat Kelantan tonight at the Jalan Besar Stadium and if the match between Johor Darul Takzim and Selangor end in a draw, they will secure second place in the table ahead of the international break. Coach V Sundramoorthy, however, is not ready yet to talk about a title challenge.

Unbeaten against all the sides occupying the top three rungs of the 12-team league and after a performance of blood and guts in the Feb 19 2-2 draw with Fandi Ahmad’s nouveau riche Johor, Sundram’s charges seem to growing in confidence.

He does not want his men, many of whom are youngsters who are being prepared for the South-east Asia Games Under-23 football competition in Myanmar in December, to think too far ahead.
