THEY started with a roar but finished with a whimper.
Although both the LionsXII and Kelantan FA camps agreed that a draw would have been a fairer result, the hosts failed to capitalise on a bright start to lose 2-1 at the Jalan Besar Stadium last night. So what went wrong?
David Lee runs down the possible reasons for the LionsXII's loss last night, including that controversial penalty awarded to Kelantan.

A good start for the Lions.
A good start for the Lions. Howerver, the players lacked of stamina and experience. AGU was very effective in the 1st half of the game. The team just cant depend on a single striker up-front. Just imagine when he had to run down to take up some of the defensive role ins 2nd half. That had slow down his pace and effectiveness.
The penalty may be controversial. Howerver, this could have been prevented if he goalkeeper did not touch or 'tiny push' the opponent when the ball was already going to be out of play.
Well done, Lions. You can do better for the future matches ahead :-)
Oh my god, here we go again!!
