Getting over the hair-over

THE air was tense. The TNP New Face top 20 girls looked apprehensively at one another as they gathered at Monsoon Hair House at Novena Square.

They fell silent as the stylists from the salon went about their transformative work, clipping, cutting and dyeing.

The girls' dramatic transformations are a New Face tradition. Each year, girls are sent to the hair salon to get a “hairover”.

This updates their look and prepares them for the photoshoots and public appearances over the course of the New Face competition, which is now in its 19th year.
