Lisah Suhaimi, 19

LISAH is a singer and has opened for bands before. She once opened for Malaysian band Yuna at The Arts House. She credits her dad for this.

"My dad has a band but now he actually does freelance coaching for other bands," she said.

The 19-year-old has been singing for two years and finds it refreshing.

"It's a different experience from my mundane life. I get to meet many musicians and they'll give me advice. "And of course, I get to meet many acts because I open for them," she added. Lisah loves different styles of music, ranging from bossa nova to Motown.

Her favourite singer is Anita Baker.

"I know she's very old school but I draw inspiration from her because she's not afraid to be different and unique.

"She's effortless and she has very good stage presence."
