MICHELLE is a nurse by day and a dancer at heart.

The 22-year-old used to take dancing lessons and she teaches sometimes.

She even went to New York as part of an exchange program. "I went to Nanyang Polytechnic and joined a hip-hop group and that's when dancing came alive. "Before, it was just a hobby but after I joined the group, I became more serious and passionate about dancing," she said.

She attributes her change of career path to her dad.

"I was always dancing since young but I didn't know what to do after finishing secondary school. "But I knew that I've always wanted to work in the medical field because I was inspired by medical dramas and my mum used to buy me medical play sets.

"And that was when her dad encouraged her to take up nursing.

As a medical professional, she has a pet cause.

"There's a cervical vaccination, which is an injection to prevent cervical cancer in the long run. "Success rate is 85 per cent, and girls as young as 10 can get the vaccination."

Despite nursing being totally different from dancing, she still loves it.

"It's a challenging and exciting experience and you get to deal with a range of emotions."
