HO SIN was named after Singapore.
Her parents came from China and decided to name her after their adopted country.
She joked: “I don’t think they gave it much thought because they actually wanted to stop (having kids) after my sister.”
Ho Sin found out about this only a few years ago and admitted that she used to dislike her name.
“It sounds similar to a brand of canned food,” she said with a laugh.
Ho Sin revealed that her friends used to make fun of her.
They would ask her why her name was so strange.
“In the past, I wanted an English name badly. But I’ve slowly grown to like my name,” she said.
“I’ve seen a few top models with two-character names and it makes them unique. Now, I think my name makes me stand out,” she said.
