SHINE is a good cook who has been whipping up a storm in her family’s kitchen for the past five years.
She prefers a more flexible style of cooking, deciding on only the main ingredient and leaving the rest till later.
She said: “I think of the main ingredient first. Then two to three hours before I start cooking, I head to the supermarket to see what garnishing and marinade to use.”
Her family is very supportive of her and loves her culinary skills.
Smiling, she admits: “It encourages me to cook more often because my first cooking experience was bad – I added too much salt.”
Although she picked up cooking only after her GCE A levels because she had free time, as a young girl, Shine loved watching her mum in the kitchen.
She was fascinated by the fact that simple ingredients could be combined to whip up a complicated dish.
Shine feels that cooking has brought her family closer together because they have meals together more often.
