21 dead in South Korea hospital fire
A fire broke out in a hospital in South Korea early Wednesday morning, leaving 21 people dead and six others in a critical condition, according to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.
It was reported that most of the patients who died at the hospital in Janseong county, south of Seoul, were in their seventies and eighties.
Most of the patients at the hospital were elderly people with limited mobility, reported YTN.
The patients are believed to have been suffering from dementia, while others had suffered strokes
They were seen to be "choking on fumes".
The fire authorities and police are investigating the cause of the fire.
There was only one nurse on duty at the time and she was among the 21 who lost their lives.
This is the second deadly blaze this week alone in Korea. Seven people were killed after a fire broke out in a bus terminal.
